On the centenary of Moondog's birth, The Lovely and the Wretched learned two sets of Moondog. Though the group grew to about 10, this was a smaller group. I played chimes. Clem Fortuna was on piano, Mary Riccardi was on violin, Joel Peterson played bass and Tim Holmes played flute. Doug Shimmin, Mike Shimmin, James LaCroix and Doug Gourlay rested. Somebody coughed. Not a perfect recording.

I'm a regular with the Cuneiform Records' weekend specials but this Bandcamp Friday I had to skip the dish of the day in favour of one of their latest offerings. I almost had to buy it for the hilarious liner notes alone, elaborating on the band members' stage names :-))
Hard to categorize, so let's settle for a jazz informed mix of what have you with a definite sense of humour. Highly entertaining! Carsten Pieper

Gnarly punk rock from the Philadelphia duo is unhinged in the best way, an in-the-red sonic assault a la Motorhead/Stooges. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 9, 2024
